Some reports have put annual revenue in the adult entertainment business at between $10 and $14 billion – although, as Forbes reported, porn tends to ‘exaggerate the size of everything’ with a more accurate annual revenue estimate coming in at about $1 billion. In contrast with most traditional industries, the gender gap is flipped on its head (no pun intended) in the adult entertainment industry, with men finding they’re generally less well-paid than women for their work. On average, men can make between $300 and $1,000 for a scene, and women will garner about $500 to $1,500 a scene depending on the – ahem – complexity of the interaction. The amounts vary widely according to the popularity of the star, how new they are to the business, what type of scenes are being filmed, and the sexual orientation of the scene. For example, male-on-male actors can make as much as twice the amount that their straight counterparts would. Women, though, are the generally the most coveted stars of any scene, movie or photo shoot and the more in-demand these stars are, the more money they can demand to appear in front of the camera.
We’ve collated ten of the highest paid, most popular female entertainers in the adult industry this year – we’ve assessed their popularity on how often they’re searched, how often they appear as ‘key words’ on the major tube sites, how active their careers are and – most definitively – how much money these women make.
1. Jenna Jameson- $30 million
Over the years, Jenna Jameson has become a household name. A fixture in the lime light, after her porn career started to dwindle she kept her public status by marrying ex-UFC champion Chuck Liddell. With all the hardships of their marriage, she managed to keep her name fresh in the media. This blonde beauty has a net worth of 8 million, placing her as one of the most lucrative and popular female stars in the industry. Although she has appeared in several television shows, the bulk of her work is in the adult entertainment industry. She is best known for her role in the “Pirates” series, a pornographic spin-off of the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” films. This series garnered a lot of attention with both men and women with a relatively engaging story line in addition to sex scenes. 9. Asa Akira- $1.5 million

Although Nikki is at the lower end of the top 10, a net worth of $1 million is still – by most standards – a substantial amount for minimal hours. This Ukrainian-born porn star started auditioning for porn after she turned 18 and has since been in more than 180 videos. She’s raised her profile by posing for several adult magazines and dedicated followers have cheered every time that she’s been nominated for film industry awards – several of which she’s won.
